Home For Hugs

The first four months of our adventure are behind us and so we ventured home for three weeks of being together with the family and enjoying the space in our home. The trip from Arizona took us through Monument Valley in south Utah. This place is so capturing, I could not stop looking at it in the rear view mirror when leaving. These monoliths and the vastness of the area make all man made structures look pale in comparison.  If you wish to get in touch with your spiritual side, this place will do it. Guaranteed!

Alamoso, Colorado is the sight of the Great Sand Dunes National Park.  We planned to stay one night, but a blizzard and 8-10 inches of snow were for casted. The old Boy Scout in me said this was not "being  prepared", so we went back to town to park in the Walmart lot.  The temp. was 19 degrees and the wind rocked us, but we were warm and safe,  go Silver! Janet was hoping for a 4 Star Hotel!!!   We waited until noon the next day to leave as the pass was snowy, then passed through the most beautiful snow scenes across southern Colorado!

The family did not know we were arriving early, so we got in on a birthday party at Wild Wings for nephew Cougar and ended up celebrating for Janet too.  The hugs were soooooo wonderful!

During this time, we also attended granddaughter Miah's dance review,  grandson Cosmas's Baptism, and granddaughter Zophia's First Communion.  Some spirits of past family members must have been in on us being home for these events..... as we did not plan it that way.

Janet had some doctor visits, a procedure, and a new medicine ordered which we hope will make the next leg of the journey more comfortable for her.

We are now on our way to Utah, California, Oregon, Washington, Montana, Wyoming and another planned stop at home in July.  We will hit most of the National Parks, Vegas for Celine Dion, and San Francisco and hopefully meet up with a school friend, Grace, in San Francisco.
